As part of Grace’s continued focus on environmental sustainability, we have transitioned from traditional plastic file retrieval pouches to a new compostable alternative designed to reduce waste and lower carbon emissions.
The new pouches feature a dual self-seal system, allowing customers to reuse the mailer for file returns before it is composted at end of life, combining sustainability with practicality.
Independent Life Cycle Analysis shows compostable packaging produces significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions than paper alternatives, with compostable mailers generating approximately 0.61kg CO₂ equivalent compared with 1.16kg for recycled paper and 1.27kg for virgin paper packaging.
Certified to Australian home and industrial composting standards, the pouches are BPA-free, non-toxic, and biodegrade within 3-6 months in home compost conditions.
This initiative forms part of Grace’s broader commitment to implementing practical, environmentally responsible solutions across our operations.
