At Grace, we are dedicated to driving positive social change within our business and the communities we serve. As a proud Gold Donor Partner of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF), we are committed to supporting initiatives that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, culture, and creativity.
This year, Grace is proud to place its support behind the Pamela Lofts workshop which was held this month in Alice Springs. The workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback and was an inspiring experience for all involved.
About the Pamela Lofts Bequest Workshop
The Pamela Lofts workshop is a five-day program that brings Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth from remote NT and WA Communities together to explore storytelling through art. Over the years, participants have collaborated with ILF partners and Ambassadors to expand their skills in songs, digital art, and artistic styles such as watercolour, charcoal, and illustration.
This year marked the first time the workshop was held in Alice Springs, making it a special milestone for ILF and the participants.
A celebration of storytelling and creativity
The week-long program was filled with rich cultural experiences and opportunities to explore creativity. Highlights included:
- Meeting friends of Pamela Lofts, whose legacy the workshop honours
- Sharing kangaroo tails by the fire
- A day of discovery at the Desert Park
- Hands-on creative workshops hosted by Stick Mob Studio, introducing participants to graphic novel-style storytelling for the very first time
Grace’s contribution made it possible for ILF to purchase brand-new iPads and pens, enabling participants not only to take part in the workshop but also to continue developing their skills back in their Home Communities. With this support, participants learned new drawing techniques, experimented with digital tools, and discovered fresh ways to bring their stories to life.
What participants said:
A shared commitment
The Pamela Lofts workshop demonstrates the incredible impact of partnership and support. For Grace, it is a privilege to play a role in making these opportunities possible. By supporting ILF, we’re helping to foster creativity, literacy, and connection in Communities across Australia.
Together, we are creating pathways for voices to be heard, stories to be shared, and positive change to thrive.
