A look back into the history of Grace Information Management

A look back into the history of Grace Information Management

Few Australian companies can trace their roots back as far as Grace Group. A legacy of the iconic Grace Bros retail and home services empire founded in 1885, Grace has evolved to become Australia’s leading provider of integrated asset moving and information management solutions. We entered the records industry in 2001 with the acquisition of Millers Document Storage with the key purpose of providing tailored solutions to protect customers’ sensitive physical and digital information.

We understand that there’s not a “one size fits all” solution when it comes to information management, and have designed an actionable and tailored-made strategy known as transformation pathway, which includes:

  • Development of records management and document storage solutions
  • Commercial high-speed, book-scanning and wide format capture solutions
  • Record control solutions including data capture, data entry, OCR/ICR/OMR sentencing and cataloguing
  • Post digitisation – electronic or digital document storage solutions via their secure cloud hosted DMS and EDRMS solutions with the ELO powered Grace Digital Office suite.

In February 2021, Grace Information Management accomplished a key milestone. We achieved 12 million archive cartons in storage and is projected to hit 13 million within the upcoming months, and to celebrate this momentous achievement, we’ve put together this short timeline highlighting our achievements:

A look back into the history of Grace Information Management

When asked what major challenges we’ve faced over the last 2 years, Michael Dunstone, Director of Information Management, mentioned COVID-19 and the everchanging Privacy Laws. “2020 was a challenging year. The pandemic meant we had to be agile in the way our clients could access their records securely. Also, we’re seeing constant updates in global and Australian Privacy Laws, which means that we must continually adapt our processes to ensure that the assets we store for clients are protected and remain protected in our custody”

And when asked what’s in-store for the future, James Nutt, General Manager – National Sales of Information Management, said “we aim to grow and make available our records and information management solutions across all major metropolitan and regional locations nation-wide. Also, we want to ensure that Grace remains at the forefront of new innovations, so we continuously explore and test new innovative technologies. This includes the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to provide greater efficiencies and an enhanced differentiated service to our clients”.
