We recognise that existing employees have the knowledge, skills, experience and company values required and we encourage our employees to recommend potential candidates for future opportunities within the organisation. 

Our Refer a Friend policy enables employees to be rewarded for their contribution in the successful appointment of a referred candidate to full or part time employment.   

Scope and Eligibility

All current employees of Grace are encouraged to recommend great candidates that they feel will make a valuable contribution and be a great asset to Grace.  

The company makes no guarantee that a referred employee will be offered full-time or part-time employment and will be subject to our normal recruitment process.  

Definitions and Criteria

Referring Employee – means an existing employee who has referred a candidate for employment. 

Referred Candidate – means a person who was referred for employment by a current employee. 

Incentive – incentive payments as outlined further in this policy. 

Past employees – do qualify as a “Referred Candidate” 

The program is for referral of full-time and part-time candidates for permanent contract positions only.  Whilst employees can refer candidates for casual employment, casual employment referrals do not qualify for the payment of the referral fee.  Should the casual employee transition to full or part time employment in the first 6 months after the initial employment date, a referring employee will qualify for the stage 2 payment. 

Note: for the sake of this promotion only:  a full-time employee is deemed to be someone who works more than 21 hours a week and a part-time employee is deemed to be someone who works more than 16 hours and less than 21 hours per week and for both categories, has been offered a permanent contract. 

Limitations

The following limitations apply to this policy:

  • Staff supplied through a labour hire agency to Grace are not eligible for the incentive
  • Staff currently employed or contracted in any capacity by Grace are not eligible for the incentive
Incentive
  • There are no restrictions on the number of candidates an employee can refer under this policy. The below incentives are paid per candidate referred and employed in accordance with this policy. 

Stage 1 – $500.00 after tax payment  

  • Employee refers a candidate
  • Manager interviews and confirms to Human Resources that an offer of appointment has been made and accepted
  • Referral payment will be made based on commencement and will receive a $500.00 payment
Stage 2 – $500.00 after tax payment  
  • Referred candidate successfully completes their 6-month probationary period
  • Human Resources will process the $500.00 payment to the referring employee
All incentive payments will be processed via the payroll system and subject to the relevant tax paid to the employee’s nominated bank account in a lump sum payment. The payments will be grossed up to ensure the referring employee receives the above entitlements.  
The referring employee must be a current employee of Grace at the time of payment. 
How do I submit a Refer a Friend (RAF) recommendation?
Employees must complete the Refer a Friend (RAF) Referral Form and submit to the Human Resources Department careers@grace.com.au and their manager in accordance with the Refer A Friend (RAF) Procedure.
