European countries are becoming increasingly important destinations for multinational companies and their relocating employees.

According to the Cartus 2013 Trends in Global Relocation: Biggest Challenges survey of international mobility managers, Europe ranks third worldwide for the greatest increase in relocation volume over the last two years, and also ranks third in the world as the region most critical to future business goals.

According to the report, the Top Relocation Challenges in Europe are:

  1. Controlling relocation/assignment costs;
  2. Complying with laws and regulations; and
  3. Housing.

“As the Euro zone economy begins its slow recovery, companies will have to keep a keen eye on all these challenges to pace their assignment programmes with improving employment dynamics,” said Ian Payne, executive vice president and managing director of the Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia-Pacific regions for Cartus.
