Australian Dysphonia Network is ‘a place for people affected by voice disorders’. ‘Dysphonia’ means ‘difficulty making voice sounds’ and is a problem with the larynx (voice box). It’s a not-for-profit organisation that creates creates awareness around the often under diagnosed condition across Australia.
“We want to change that by bringing those affected into the conversation through a series of videos which highlight the personal journey, and the impact of not being heard.”
They are on a mission to educate and lobby within communities, and importantly, within the medical profession. The organisation is using its Grace Gives grant to support in the creation of training programs that educate professionals, as well as to produce content that can be used in healthcare settings, waiting rooms, etc.
